#Divorce-($19K
I was in a coma from a fall for 5 months. After my divorce I saved $19k to get back to enjoying my life. While I was out my insurance stopped. I woke up to $7k of debt and lost everything I busted my ass for. The American dream lol

Divorce was just a symptom of a misogynist society. Nonstop wage suppression for all & grossly unequal pay for women are more apt factors.

In 1981, (year my parents split) median home price was under $60k. Median HH income was $19k. 3x.

Today, median home price: 417k. Median HH income: 82k. 5x.

As a result, $300K was the top level to strive for and only a handful of players ever reached it.

Sent this to my MAGA ex-FIL, who always sends me random clips (we have a generally good relationship despite divorce). He only gets social security so he's at abt $19k/yr. I pointed out that this likely had implications for him too. Still haven't heard back.
