In 2007, 78 percent of Americans identified as Christian. The current percentage is 62 percent.

Perhaps Christianity is less sustainable for another reason: Fundamentalist assholery has taken an apolitical, empathetic and humanistic doctrine and dragged it into the political gutter.

JD Vance does not believe in the Christian doctrine of compassion, empathy, and help to those ailing and in need. Instead he embraces the Musk/Thiel doctrine which puts self-love first and teaches that empathy is a blight on the world.
