Right this moment, warm at home, my nearly 11 y.o. girl is asleep with her head on my hip. I know that if I hike Glastenbury after this year, I am likely hiking solo.

What we did this morning, in a brief window of early morning cool. Our fifth annual Welch-Dickey Loop required a 4am departure to be hiking by 6:15 and back in the car by 9. Ready for cold weather!

Whole lotta dog butts lately. We took a quick mountain day trip today up Mount Hale via Zealand, Twinway, Lend-a-Hand, and Hale Brook trails—8.2 miles including the 0.8mi road walk to close the loop. (I/II)
