I’ve replaced my Magen David with my Chai (which means Life) from Jewitches but I’ve been thinking about also getting their new Doikayt (which means diasporism and strengthening Jewish community wherever they live), which I think is cool AF

I still have this poster in my flat and I have a Yiddish shirt that reads "down with the police". I take Doikayt very seriously. My MA thesis basically looked at Yiddish Doikayt/Here-ness versus Hebrew-oriented Zionism as the there-ness (this is a generalization)

Doikayt may not be fucking particularly useful if you suddenly reveal a basically racial dislike for those surrounding you in the doi.

A few years ago @uhshanti.bsky.social wrote this great piece for us titled "Doikayt in the Desi Diaspora" about the parallels between Hindutva and Zionism and how Desi organizers are pushing back by way of socialist universalism. Love seeing it remain relevant.
