Possibly I'm being harsh. But I'm tired of middle class doomism and talk of finding community and meaning through societal collapse. How about forming communities to shift our politics so we avoid societal collapse; seems like a more sensible option 🤷♂️

I've only recently discovered Sarah Wilson in this context. Her's is a special kind of grift that appeals to wealthy upper middle class doomers, especially women. She's like the celebrity pilates instructor of doomism. I don't think the toxicity of philosophies like Wilson's can be overestimated.

Et sinon oui, ralentir la construction de centre de calcul, à mon avis on a des usages très contestables des IA actuelles. A nouveau, le défi est de le faire de manière coordonnée dans le monde. Le doomism est (peut etre) un mensonge mais peut aider tout ça: moindre mal?

Es gibt, ob beim Klima wie auch beim Faschismus, bestimmte Kipppunkte, deren Überschreiten einfach Folgen hat. Diese Fakten müssen wir anerkennen und benennen. Das hat nichts mit Doomism zu tun.
