#Dragonseed
for all my fellow nerds out here, i've been recently playing an unhealthy amount of the Game of Thrones mod for CK3 and i thought i should share with you each generation...!

lady vaelora morning - founder of the morning dynasty, dragonseed, conqueror of tarth, rider of windsong, hand of the king ✨

The line about villagers discussing a "wild girl living among nettles & sheep" is a wink at/middle finger to (depending on how invested you are in it) the storyline of Nettles in Fire & Blood, a Dragonseed who claims Sheepstealer & is NOT Rhaena. #FireAndBloodFacts #HotD #HouseOfTheDragon

i am wondering if they're going to Do It in season 4 or 5, as now I'm not even sure how much they're going to stretch things out before The Gods Eye, let alone the resolution of The Dance. I'm suspecting the God's Eye is the end of 4, but the Dragonseed stuff post Tumbleton could an entire season.

Vhagar and Aemond is the safe number one, but Hugh on Vermithor unsettles me more. Loyalty you can predict. A dragonseed with the Bronze Fury and his own agenda? No idea where that points.

introducing actual motivations for the dragonseed betrayal?? what a concept

I think Addam is the only dragonseed doing what he's supposed to

The bleak part: in the Dance, the honorable ones tend to get the worst of it. Addam being the "good" dragonseed might be exactly why he's expendable to everyone above him.

I mean… they can have all the kids they want, that’d make me happy (it would carry his perfect genes down the generations!) but unless he’s a hidden dragonseed… which he very much seems not to be…

House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 4 | Tumbleton Terror, Hidden Heirs, and the Dragonseed Domination
It’s Season 3, Episode 4 of HBO’s House of the Dragon, titled "Tumbleton"! 🐉🔥 The fires of the Dance of the Dragons are burning at a terrifyingly high frequency this week, and Danielle and Jay are booting up the studio to run a full diagnostic on a Westerosi chessboard that has completely glitched out. The absolute headliner of the night is the official, grand introduction of Lord Ormund Hightower (played with chilling brilliance by James Norton). From the moment he marched his army directly into the loyalist merchant town of Tumbleton and casually took a bath in Lord Footly’s private chambers, Ormund established himself as a ruthless, Tywin Lannister-level political menace. The Snark Squad is in an absolute state of horror over his toxic eugenics speech to his ward—the real, auburn-haired Prince Daeron Targaryen—where Ormund literally branded the Targaryens a "savage race" and forced the timid boy to execute an innocent man in a temple of the Seven. This twisted parental dynamic is a massive system update from the source books, completely rewriting Daeron's moral compass by teaching him that a dragonlord’s power is defined by who dies at his command. Meanwhile, the tactical landscape is suffering from some major connection lag. Rhaenyra is sitting on the Iron Throne in King's Landing, but her operational security is actively fracturing under severe financial strain and the chaotic, unchecked egos of her newly minted dragonseeds. Danielle is pointing out how quickly Rhaenyra's control protocol is slipping, especially after she banned a rebellious Ulf the White from the local taverns and arrogantly told him that his very body now belongs to the crown. Back in the Crownlands, Larys Strong is executing a stealth program to hide a horribly injured, fugitive King Aegon II, while Ser Criston Cole marches into a completely abandoned Harrenhal only to find Aemond Targaryen has gone entirely off-grid following his aerial injuries. To round out the psychological warfare, the timeline tracked a deeply complicated parental reunion over in the Vale, where Daemon Targaryen finally tracked down his estranged daughter, Rhaena. Instead of standing by his Queen, Daemon chose to run a heavy deception script, lying directly to Rhaenyra to protect his daughter's secret connection to the wild dragon Sheepstealer. Jay and Danielle agree that between secret pregnancies, missing dragonriders, and Ormund's terrifying psychological abuse of Daeron, the realm is quickly realizing that when the dragons take flight, Westeros leaves you with absolutely zero clean exits!

Genuinely think Jace gets flattened to "dutiful heir" when the dragonseed idea was the smartest single call anyone on Team Black made.

Jacaerys Velaryon: his dragonseed plan armed three dragons and arguably won Team Black the war — and it's tangled up with how things end for him. Most underrated strategist of the Dance, or a kid who outsmarted himself? #HouseOfTheDragon #Jacaerys

Rhaenyra's utter innocence is so interesting. Dragonseed debacle aside this is the first time she's really been treated like a regnant queen, with no men or other royal women that expect to be heard.

anyway, I have a somewhat asoiaf au with those two in yuri format, perhaps I should make it nastier.... alice is not just some bastard of the stormlands but a Velaryon dragonseed 🤫 like maybe a half sister to lucenya's betrothed (and cousin) uhhhhhh. fuck. ozzie? ozerys. fkin valyrian names man 😭

Yeah, they didn't find a lot for her to do, but it kind of works in that she, too, is pretty mad about it and it kind of makes the dragonseed plot make more emotional sense to me

One thing I really appreciate about this season of HotD is that they're really starting to drill down on the secondary characters and that makes it feel like a more fleshed-out world. Baela and Rhaena, everything with Corlys/Addam/Alyn, the dragonseed storyline. Really enjoying that.

The quiet risk isn't the dragons, it's the new riders. A dragonseed on Vermithor is power and a wildcard in the same body.

Hated HotD S3E1. That wasn’t an adaptation of the Battle of the Gullet, they just made up their own Battle of the Gullet.

Rhaena never rides Sheepsteeler. Baela and Moondancer aren’t there. The three Dragonseed riders ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE.

(We can mourn Nettles, but I mourned her last season and I moved on)

I loved Rhaenyra having a three dragonseed hit squad waiting on Aemond. She clearly changed her plans to send the boys out on sorties against Lannisport and Oldtown when Alicent gave Rhaenyra Aemond’s flight itinerary.

Rhaena can’t control sheepy, Ulf’s dragonseed story is probably a lie,
- despite it all are the anti blood purity patriots still winning?

No Nettles, no baby Aegon, no baby Viserys and no dragonseed riders at the battle of the gullet eh? Still pretty good so I can’t be arsed to bitch about it, but damn did they mess up that Jace plot but cutting 99.9% of it. Welcome back HotD but you kinda made me miss Dunk & Egg more though
June 22, 2026 at 10:43 AM
ah, so House of the Dragon not only wrote out Nettles (the only female Dragonseed, a fan favorite character) and rolled her into Rhaena Targaryen, they also made Rhaena pathetically bumbling into the middle of a battle without control of her dragon responsible for Jace & Vermax. cool cool
