Last night we participated at the Long night of science at @uniulm.bsky.social. We demonstrated a view of the world in UV light and did some 19th century #dryplate photographs with gear from that time. This was fun and we will be back!

If you want 120, there's loads of choices. 127 too. You can still find frozen 220. You can bodge together 620, instamatic and others. Large format sheet and dryplate is no problem. APS is harder; some of us have frozen stock and you can still get it developed. Disc is far more tricky!

I enjoy repairing and using antique cameras. This week I built a film holder to use in what I initially thought was a non-functioning toy, but is actually a fully usable ‘Yen Camera’! (35mm for scale)
It uses ~25mm x 50mm glass plates.

One project leads to another. Dryplate #tintypes came out about 1872, a large advancement from #wetplate as it allowed for photographers to take pictures where they wouldn't have been able to get a darkroom. Soon this 40x24 beast I am building will be ready to go into places.
