Le logiciel de partionnement, bon mode débutant en dualboot mais dommage de ne pas suggérer qqchose en mode "autre" après analyse des disques.

if i have to dualboot and run lightroom i will be unhappy. Dualbooting WindowsXP to play Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge (RIP Westwood Studios) before good win7 fixes existed was totally worth doing, but not for Lightroom >_>...

You could... I guess.... Install the Linux OS on a portable hard drive?
It'd be slow, but if you're testing around, that's something.
I also realized that I need to dualboot after installing linux and nuking my OG harddrive.
It's so much harder with content on said drive...

tbh if i ever have the cash (hahaha ha ha ha ha hahahahahahah hahaha ha ha hahaahhahhahahaha) i would like to just run multiple machines with different OSes, same setup you seem to have. it'd be good for testing my games and avoiding specific OS' annoyances. (i know dualboot exists but. ugh)

hmmm good point... my only dualboot right now is just my windows 10 and 11 drives LOL if all I want is wipe the 11 drive I just hope it won't cause problems on my 10 drive. that's about it. I'll save the weird wacky linux shit for when my girlfriend comes here maybe

Good luck! Over here an IBM Thinkpad R40 with Windows XP and Debian 12 dualboot going on. Installing 32-bit Firefox on Debian. Zram installed and configured as well.

Windows? Yeah it does I just didnt like how it didn't have proper color profile support and also it didn't support display extensions
So I just dualboot macOS Mojave & Sonoma (OCLP) and on Mojave I have Windows VMs which work fine

When I do switch i have to do it completely, because every time I do a dualboot moment and launch windows, it goes into my uefi settings and deletes all instances of linux-related boot options. Literally have to reinstall limine or something

I was able to fix windows on my now dualboot PC so it shows the correct time even after switching to Linux and back instead if reverting to UTC!

i have this 2014 mac/book and i was thinking maybe it would be fun to dualboot with lin so i could have access to one, but the most recent it can get is big sur and that shit phones mothership all the time even if you aren’t logged in… i don’t need that energy in my life

basically Microslop wants all dialog boxes to be maximized so it would consume the whole screen. this mess (2) is so absurd 🫠
so far Arch treats me well! (except for that latest quirk). I yolo'd and don't have dualboot anymore. Everyone just says make sure to update as soon as it's available!

My biggest issue is just how sluggish everything feels. It feels like every time I go into my Win11 partition it takes like 10 minutes for it to properly get going
