#DuckTyping
1. It can do process.

2. Like what? Vibes?

3. Like exist in time without external input

4. Are you gonna address my comment.

Ok man. Sure.

Go ducktyping stuff. Philo101 nonsense.

Thing that some people don't understand about generative ai is that it's basically a anti-ducktyping kind of thing: yes, it might look like a duck, it might quack like a duck, it might walk like a duck, but it doesn't make it a duck.

Welcome back, JSON-LD ducktyping?

Essentially it's an argument for ducktyping right? If it looks like X to me, it is X.

But in what other area is difficulty to distinguish a criterion for establishing ground truth?

Complex truth is no truer than elegant or trivial truth.

I'm on the verge to fully switch to full ECS using #godot. It just makes so much sense! Architecture does not have or need any workarounds, ducktyping etc. Cognitive load feels minimal like it should be!
Right now will have ECS-hybrid: ECS with signals and minimal queries (once to cache). 😱 #gamedev

Ducktyping consciousness is ridiculous.

"Well the output looks like it to me" is a property of the observer not the system.

Googelt mal ducktyping.

im definitely using zod incorrectly, the typescript ecosystem frustrates the hell out of me with its wacky ducktyping. It lets me make too many mistakes while also being overly constrained.

Like, I'm barely clever. But if I said "ok, I can distinguish your output from mine, therefore one of us is AI" it would be ridiculous.

So why is the inverse sensible?

Why is ducktyping the ultimate threshold lol.

I swear it's a compsci thing, thinking it is just an evidence problem.

Missing: "How did this even work" when you connect an older JS(X) to your newer TS(X) and realize how everything 90% ducktyping blackmagic, 10% raw luck your API never sent the wrong type but could have.

Yea, matching with valueOf is like ducktyping for primitives, assuming inference behaves similarily in TypeScript 7 (some reason playground doesn't yet have it) then it works for this usecase rather well. You can still fake it with

const v = { valueOf() { return true } }

tja, da wende ich ganz klar ducktyping an.
Die sind dann eben mit "Nazis raus!" mit gemeint.

I was puzzled why you use hasattr, is this to avoid type checking? It’s more broad than typechecking and supporting the ducktyping of python, but I would love to hear your reasoning

this looks neat; i built a somewhat similar simulation engine on top of the `llm` plugin ecosystem a few months ago

didn't realise pydantic had gotten into this meta-API game; looks useful [although i like ducktyping too much to use their libraries religiously]

Ich denke mal die sind aktuell handlungsunfähig, wenn das so weiter geht. Daher auch die Frage ans VerfG, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe. Wenn da was braunes raus kommt, dann ist Arsch doch naheliegend. Ducktyping muss erlaubt bleiben.

All I'm seeing is not having to do stupid ducktyping (has_method("")) or series of is Type or is OtherType or way too broad var a: Type typing

Specifically label example here:

Add relevant traits to existing native classes (once traits are implemented) · Issue #12586 · godotengine/godot-proposals
Describe the project you are working on Various games and the Godot engine Describe the problem or limitation you are having in your project There have been times I've wanted to access properties o...

Another fun thing you can zig is use @declType to conditionally perform actions on fields even if the fields have different functionality, allowing for ducktyping without inheritance or vtables. I implemented hover states for components through this design today.

Thinking DuckTyping, MonkeyPatching and such are making it impossible to NOT build the TDD-way. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Archi contre le ducktyping mais on fait avec aussi.
