Time was a fella with that kind of money would have a train in his house. Nothing Silver Spoon-like, nothing like that, but a large model train running on a model railway snaking through each room of the house above the door lintel height, with switchback dumbwaiters. To deliver sandwiches and such.

I’m having an early dinner at Medici in Hyde Park and just heard a kid, maybe 10, exclaim with pure joy, “They have a dumbwaiter!!” and that made my day. Dumbwaiters are indeed cool, kid.
