is a servants entrance at the back where they take out the refuse. It connects to the kitchen which has lots of dumbwaiters, which we can use to raise the crates instead of hoisting them to the dinner hall ourselves.”

when huge amounts of housing stock is Victorian. Don't ever look too closely at the electrical wiring in a British home if you want to be able sleep at night! I've seen LSD spiderwebs of wiring running up abandoned dumbwaiters. Plumbing running up the outsides of homes. Retrofitting an entire nation
