Wish 1: To get relief from dyspnea (achieved w/ narcotics)
Wish 2: To go outside (we brought many tanks bc his high O2 needs)
Wish 3: To eat good gluten-free pizza (ordered & donated by me).

Before he died, he said it was the best 48hrs he's had in a long time. I cried. @3wishesprogram.bsky.social

Yesterday I found out that many doctors have gaslighted me for years regarding my breathing issues. The pain doctor said that years ago. I got diagnosed with Dyspnea (shortness of breath) after seeing a pulmonologist because my lungs can't exhale properly due to my scoliosis and spine issues.

Of note: “exertional dyspnea” with a prevalence of approx. 80% in ME/CFS: Shortness of breath during exercise (exertional dyspnea) produces a sensation of not being able to "get enough air" and a feeling of being "out of breath

Six years into #LongCOVID, my son keeps ending up in the ER with extreme air hunger (dyspnea doesn't quite describe it).

Worryingly, there appear to be no treatments besides Prednisone, a steroid one shouldn't take too often.

CD14++ monocytes from long COVID patients show bioenergetic impairment, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) damage, and defective adaptation to oxidative stress, which may contribute to heart-related symptoms like dyspnea and angina.

I've used my rescue inhaler 25-30 times today. Dry cough & sweats for weeks. Profound dyspnea 2 yrs; no one knows why, or tries to find out. (Covid neg., but the only people I've encountered are HCWs wearing N95s, w/ me in a P100, anyway). I feel consumptive. I feel like Keats. And I *hate* Keats.

@j-palliativemed.bsky.social Pain and dyspnea were more severe in patients with hyperactive delirium than those without delirium. The presence of hypoactive delirium was not associated with a greater severity of physical symptoms www.liebertpub.com/doi/10.1089/...

When should you suspect pneumonic plague?
If a patient has rapid-onset fever + cough + dyspnea AND:
- Traveled to AZ/NM/CO/CA
- Handled sick/dead rodents or wild animals
- Has cats (esp. sick ones) exposed to wildlife
- Had close contact with someone who died suddenly w/ respiratory symptoms
