You’d hope HMG is looking at both the @appgcw.bsky.social report on E-bikes, and the #EbikePositive campaign, but action is needed @heidialexander.bsky.social

We also need orgs like ebikepositive – who are supposed to be tackling this – to push forward with certification schemes that allow owners and buildings/transport orgs to validate the ebike in question is safe and not tampered with.

This looks like a good initiative to make sure e-bikes are road legal; the current free-for-all undermines the huge potential EAPCs have for #TransportDecarbonisation (not forgetting that the battery for one EV can power many EPACs doing the same journeys) #EBikePositive

It’s a classic case of any measure like this inconveniencing far more legitimate users than offenders, and conflation of Aliexpress specials and Surrons with legal EAPCs #EbikePositive
