Put on Direct again, mainly to have kid see Metroid and Kirby, and just striking how many games to avoid for Reasons there are.

That one's directed by a Nazi. That company loves AI. That game def uses AI. That one catered to incels. That one is owned by the Misk EGDC.

Kinda reminder that SNK got acquired by the EGDC which is owned by Saudi Arabia

A SNK VAI FALIR?!🤔
KOF, Fatal Fury e Metal Slug Ameaçados?

Antes de espalhar o doomposting sobre os ¥22 bilhões de prejuízo em 2025, você precisa entender o que está os números revelam sobre os bastidores da SNK, e o que a EGDC quer dela até 2029!

SNK has always been bad at running a profitable business, but losing $125 million to achieve revenue gains of just 10% in 2025 is a level of incompetence that's hard to imagine.

This time, I suspect their losses are also tied to accounting games played by their parent company, the Saudi-owned EGDC.

Place your bets folks

Will EGDC bail on SNK and give the opportunity for someone else to purchase off of them?

Or is the prince gonna ride this baby all the way till it dies cuz its one of the fun toys in his toybox?

Saudi has a 10% stake in Capcom. EGDC and Saudi PIF each own a 5% stake
July 14, 2026 at 12:29 AM
Sorry but I kinda don't understand the logic behind this.

The Saudi Arabian EGDC owns 5% or larger stakes in Capcom, Nintendo, EA, Blizzard, Take Two, Niantic, and others.

What does blocking SNK specifically accomplish when they're still profiting from the success of much larger companies?
July 13, 2026 at 7:07 PM
TIL that SNK, in the last six years, has become almost entirely owned by EGDC, a subsidiary of investment group MiSK, founded by Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince leading the Saudi coalition when it bombed a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Yemen despite knowing it was a hospital
We're so excited to be working with SNK to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Metal Slug with a speedrunning showcase!!

Tune in now and stay in touch on their socials!

They were doing PR for SNK, a ~50yr old Japanese company that's gone bankrupt, changed names, and changed hands several times over those years. I don't expect people to inherently know that EGDC owns it now, nor do I expect people to inherently know that they just have to check for this stuff now.

For people just catching up: since 2022, SNK is over 95% owned by EGDC, part of the Misk Foundation, an organization founded by Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Misk functions as a soft power wing of the MbS regime, which imprisons/tortures/executes political dissidents.

I think folks need to understand what corporate entity owns SNK isn't exactly common knowledge. Is it, in this case, an important fact to know? Yes, of course, but I'd wager you could survey everyone who attended SGDQ last week and maybe 1 in 100 would know what EGDC is or what it owns.
July 12, 2026 at 11:03 PM
Yeah it's abstracted away a fair bit, Electronic Gaming Development Company/EGDC is the gaming arm that owns 97% of SNK but both that and the fund that owns EVO are directly maintained by the royal family.

(and there's obvs synergy, with like how much EVO has made Fatal Fury flagship)

( famitsu.com/article/2026... )

The EGDC first acquired a 33.3% stake in SNK in November 2020, and at the time announced it planned to buy more shares. In February this year it did so, raising its stake to an all-but-done 96%.

Looks like EGDC (the company owned by Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman) bought 96% of the company
