The e-graph-based optimization technique gained popularity but has been superseded by more efficient methods. In 2021, the egg paper was selected as a CACM Research Highlight.

A new blog post www.philipzucker.com/lambda_mille... Lambda Microegg. A s-exp frontend to a small rust e-graph implementation that supports binders and capture avoiding substitution. Good clean fun. WASM demo here: www.philipzucker.com/lambda-micro...

arxiv.org/pdf/2606.10644 I thought using ASP for egraph extraction was onworkable, but apparently setting 2 threads makes it viable. They should consider changing those defaults if it's that radical

😉. I think the Daily Tall Tale-egraph would combust, if it remembered the real source of all the evergreen imagery in our “Christian” celebrations. If we want to look at riding roughshod over things…

You know what they say;

Tel-ephone.
Tel-egraph.

Tell Uhura. 😊🖖🏾

Hail yes!

If they miss it, they'll have to just stay mad about it, until next year! 😉

Google yet again drowning me in rightwing adjacent techbro clickbait because obviously as a white guy in his 40s my account is tagged "Idiot Who Will Choke Down As Much of This Shit As We Can Feed Him"

That said, I don't want to miss a single moment of schadenfreude as it all crashes and burns

A new blog post "Lifting Terms: Making Well Scoped Syntax Dumber" www.philipzucker.com/thin_term/ Basically, add a field to regular terms that says what scope you're in and which variables you use. Lifting e-graphs minus the e-graph.
Lifting Terms: Making Well Scoped Syntax Dumber
I have been writing posts about Lifting Egraphs video as an intriguing way of adding variables and scope into an egraph. But pulling back a little, I can see that the simpler thing to talk about first...

Headline on The World at One just now:

Expect little else from the Heil-egraph
Banning trans women in sport changes nothing for anyone except a handful of trans women. Cis women will still be raped by their coaches. Cis women will still be paid less. Cis women will still be second to cis men.

But Oliver Brown hates women, so he's happy with that.

Out of curiosity, do you think uv’s resolver is a special case of an egraph?

Since uv is so well tuned for performance, I wonder if folks from the egg project could adopt patterns that you’ve discovered. 🤔
