i think people who demand "direct translations" never want to engage with translation necessitating a completely different structuring of prose
my translators do great work in that regard but like translation is a structural art not just a find and replace

re: winning people over on “the other side” by having discussions - as someone who spent most of her early transition in the public eye, that used to work a little (at extreme psychological cost), *but those days are over*. You cannot have a discussion that overpowers this right wing ecosystem.

Could the absence of dialogue simply mean there was no direct invitation or awareness on either side, rather than evidence that either side was unwilling to engage?

BUT: Once you've completed that step, there's some harm reduction in which your ballot can still engage. Assuming you don't find six candidates you like, use the last spot on your ballot to rank the remaining VIABLE candidate you dislike least.

My theory is people like her want to pretend to themselves that they’re open minded free thinkers who regularly engage with people and ideas they disagree with, and so they pretend to be left-wing to justify only ever interacting and engaging with right-wing ideas and people

In the one game with a male Pegasus Knight, it’s literally because those are a whole separate breed that don’t mind men (which are called tenma in Japanese). Engage can have male Peggy Knights too, but not without reclassing.
