Yay! It appears that Trenitalia’s Paris-Milan Frecciarossa has finally joined the Eurail/Interrail network, as passholder reservations now bookable at partners.italiarail.com/default?forc.... Rail Planner app still needs the ‘not in pass network’ message removing.

/4 This would have been Spring 1990. We were doing a half-year abroad in England at a school I shall not mention as a result of it having then recently been soiled by Rob Lowe. English Spring Breaks are languid and Eurail passes were dirt cheap. We vagabonded across the Continent.

Another step forward: @raileurope now offers Interrail & Eurail passholder reservations on Spanish Railways. No booking fee. If you've a 1st class pass they also sell the AVE Premium reservation where an extra €13.50 gets you a meal, wine, lounge access. www.seat61.com/interrail-an...

And it was affordable. I had a Eurail pass and spent weeks on vacations to Paris, Munich, Amsterdam, etc. You could always find a cheap room. I stayed in a in-call hotel in Pigalle in Paris because the room was cheaper per hour for my overnight stays than getting a room for the week.

For the record, this problem has now been fixed - you can now book sleepers with an Interrail or Eurail pass on the Dacia, Vienna-Bucharest. Good to see!
Hope everyone had a good Christmas! So it seems CFR in Romania haven't given ÖBB any sleeper inventory for the Dacia, so ÖBB can't sell it, only CFR can. And CFR's website doesn't do reservation-only bookings for passholders. Anyone know who to give a gentle nudge to at CFR?

For the record, this problem has now been fixed - you can now book sleepers with an Interrail or Eurail pass on the Dacia, Vienna-Bucharest. Good to see!

Love riding on a train. Wish we had a more extensive system. Years ago I purchased a eurail pass & traveled through Europe on a Eurail Pass that allowed me to get on and off at the stops I chose at will. One of the highlights of my life.
