Our archive may be small, but it’s mighty - housing over 6,000 items that trace the evolution of psychiatric care through Bethlem Royal Hospital, the Maudsley & Warlingham Park. Whether you're a researcher, student, or curious visitor, there's a story here waiting to be uncovered.

To wrap up the #ExploreYourArchive focus week, we are sharing a festive item from our collections.

This is a 1938 sales catalogue of personalised Christmas greeting cards sold by Royal Renaissance Art Christmas Cards.

We hope you've enjoyed delving into our archives with us for Explore Your Archive week! 💫

As a final note, we just want to say: our archives are also your archives. We look after them for you, and everyone is welcome - for research, interest or enjoyment!

#EYA #EYAYourArchives The #BritishMuseum #archive is an important record of its history. As we embark on a vast cataloguing programme, there’s much to discover. These items came from Frederic Kenyon’s archive & include letter from #RudyardKipling & an autograph book of archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon

Do we have archives relating to your history? Probably! Our archive reflects global histories & is open to all. Conservator Shabnam Balouch has helped uncover our Persian archive, and you can find out more at an upcoming talk & our free public workshops in January! #EYAYourArchives #KewLA

#ExploreYourArchive Day 9 #EYAYourArchives

This year we launched our Volunteer Programme, with members of the community volunteering on transcription and digitisation projects. There are opportunities for people to get involved remotely.

As we come to the end of Explore Your Archive, we want to highlight some of the changes that will be taking place at Gwent Archives.

The Royal Berkshire Archives have been caring for the county's records since 1948. We moved to our current purpose built archive in 2000 and were granted a royal title in 2023. We are open to visitors during the day Tues-Fri and are open late one Thurs a month. #EYAYourArchives

Come and see an array of material from our archive on display in our free exhibition, 'Wonder', including playing cards, Victorian knitting patterns, lockets of hair, and bat scales. buff.ly/JUTYPY0 #EYAYourArchives

It’s the final day of #ExploreYourArchive focus week! Our final theme is #EYAYourArchives - use the hashtag to showcase anything you want to celebrate in your archives! 📢

Thank you so much for getting involved this year, it’s been great to see all your fantastic posts 👍🎉

The Llanwenarth #WomensInstitute Minute Books from @gwentarchives.bsky.social were very popular with our transcribers. This lovely entry from December 1921 reports on a very “successful” carol concert and children’s tea party with entertainment and gifts of oranges and sweets! #EYAYourArchives 🍊🍭🍊🍭

The Treasury houses the College chest, which contained money and important documents (the beginnings of the Archives). Over time they outgrew the chest and eventually moved to the Muniment Room below - now the Library and Archives office! #EYAYourArchives #ExploreYourArchive

This image explores the theme of #EYAYourArchives as it highlights York history as well as the wider history of Britian. It explores the celebrations for Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee and the coming together of the community, through either teas or galas.
