Also, I'm using Effect.fork on my "parseXML" function because I'd prefer for everything else to keep going while this process is executed

on today's episode of what I'm with @effect-ts.bsky.social

1. Request Batching with Effect to improve performance and prevent resource waste
2. Some type definitions I have in my codebase
3. One of the Effect.Service modules utilizing the batched request resolver

No I know, I understand, EffectTS is pragmatic 😀

For #solidhack 2024, I made solid-effect, a library for using #effect-ts in #solidjs.
solid-effect allows for using effects and functional types closer to the edge of your SolidJS app.

EffectTS is a step in the right direction there but AFAIK the handlers are not decoupled from the effects. I think it might be interesting to explore customizable effect handlers (can probably be implemented with generators) and whether that might help with writing UI components.

ok so this was just from me using TypescriptToLua to compile EffectTS to Lua for a very cursed idea I had :D typescripttolua.github.io

EffectTS has hands down the best DI system (Layers + Tags) i've ever worked with

Man I agree with the EffectTS people, the error typing in TS is bad 😦

I'm so torn. On one hand I like what EffectTS does (especially the dependency injection part) but on the other hand it feels so heavy-handed.

It also seems like EffectTS is attempting this as well. Curious if you’ve seen it and if so what your thoughts are

I like #OpenCode because you can just instruct the AI to build you plugins for adding functionality and the experience is pretty good (also, #EffectTS FTW). Here's another simple plugin that adds the Brave Search API as a `websearch` (tool) provider:

バックエンドにeffecttsを採用した結果、フロントエンドにまで侵食しだした。もうReactをルーティングとHTMLテンプレートとしてしか使っていない。

Effect.ts doesn't click until the mental models do — generics, ADTs, composition, laziness.

Broke them down from first principles. Link in comments.

Effect.ts: The Prerequisites You Need Before the Library Clicks
Before Effect.ts feels natural, you need four mental models: generics, algebraic data types, functional composition, and laziness. This first post builds those foundations from first principles.

I'm kinda confident, that backend software architecture can be vibed soon enough. If given enough guidlines, and less rope, LLMs produce decent result.

I wish Elm would araise from ashes and create backend version of it. Because reading EffectTS is like splinters in eyes!

EffectTS初めて知ったけどこれはパイプ演算子がJSにあったらめちゃくちゃ便利だったろうなという感じがする

So I don't know how exactly this might be but I really found it more enjoyable to write functions using Sanctuary because it looks more like a functional program than EffectTS. Similar to Ramda.

But it can be a bit overwhelming because it wants to be Haskell

With sanctuary.js or effectTS and coconut I can freely use python and javascript.

That's the best compromise an FP person can get.
