...in TypeScript?

When ChatGPT first got good (GPT-4o), I thought to myself "Gee, here's this infinitely patient tutor, I can finally learn TypeScript."

Now it's 2026 and I'm fairly convinced I'm never going to need to read or write a line of TypeScript for the rest of my life.

TypeScript 7.1 Beta is interesting 👀

What caught me isn’t new type syntax, but the tooling side.

typescript/ast is getting a proper public API, and Content Mappers make Vue, Svelte, Astro, etc. much easier to integrate.

TypeScript 7.x is getting fun. 😸

can't decide whether I like Typescript or not.

eg type operators are either a galaxy brain move or a giant kludge

Microsoft made TypeScript roughly 10× faster by porting its compiler and tooling to Go.

Now Cloudflare’s @voidzero.dev team is working with the #TypeScript team on tsrs, a Rust port reporting up to 8× faster checks than TS 7.0 and ~70% less memory.

The past couple days I've been tapping away at a Typescript / Javascript wrapper for Altstream's API!

The library is now in a usable state if you're looking to make bots or other tooling for streamers! Find it (and documentation) here: codeberg.org/fletchmakes/...

I compared 6 TypeScript validation libraries + a handwritten guard. 🤔

Same `User`. Same rules.

The surprise? Making 7 approaches mean the same thing was harder than making them compile. 😹

Full comparison! 🦐
