#Elites
This was the No Kings election. Do not let comfortable elites rewrite history. As elites collapsed, millions of Americans organized to stop a would-be king and his corrupt coterie of crooks, collaborators, and cowards.

Together we made history. And we're not done. ❌👑

Everyone I know wants consequences. It's only you political elites that are looking to "bridge divides."

"instantly reversible"

you get the feeling that American elites have no idea how good they had it
Oh, found the guy who thinks the States can turn on a dime and get Canada and Europe back.

Two years ago Trump won narrowly. American elites immediately folded and rushed to comply as he moved to consolidate power.

Regular people stood in the gap. They organized and fought back and protected each other.

Tonight belongs to them.

Texas is blue now, we say “tricoastal liberal elites.”
November 4, 2026 at 4:48 AM
refusing to see that elites doing crimes calls for accountability is, implicitly—but also fairly explicitly—an argument that what crime IS is something only non-elites can do and be punished for
I am so fucking tired of "seeking justice" being framed as "getting even." Arresting and/or impeaching people who are legitimately guilty of actual crimes is not revenge. It is justice. Innocent people should be released from detention and guilty people should be in prison. Again, that is JUSTICE.

This is so true: the elites folded and the rank and file people organised and pushed back.

How many effete media elites in their ivory towers have even read Glasslands? Wildly out of touch
we are now able to confirm that bluesky is real life

Truly embarrassing state.

Coastal elites with their heads fully up their ass.
Meanwhile California seems poised to finally take our long deserved title of "biggest rubes in the union", as the billionaire tax seems poised to fail, but one of the propositions that ensures you can never tax billionaires again seems poised to succeed. We're just a bunch of maleable idiots.

i don’t think you can underestimate the importance of twitter with this. a lot of elites and media are still very active there, and they’re all participating in - and driving - a detachment from the real world
Remember when all the Smart Thinkers took Trump's incredibly thin margin of squeaking by as evidence of a huge mandate and the new American thirst for all-encompassing fascism? And thus every business leader had to go all-in on destroying civil society and any vestige of human dignity? Well.
trying to remind myself that "Democrats will absolutely take the House in 2026" was a bonkers proposition like 16 odd months ago

The Coastal Elites of Youngstown diners are out of touch with real America, the people in my group chat.

"Ivy League elites will tell you..."

Fucking blue state coastal elites

Peter Baker signaling that monied elites no longer have much use for Trump.

this is part of the reason why I don't think "move on" is going to be a tenable position even for dem party elites

Which designer drug are the tech elites high on lately? No WAY is this ketamine-based.
Slide between sizes of body, mind—spend a while as god, a while as slime, stretched between galaxies, soulless and bright... Be a star's dog, die in a fight, live as an angel, live as a place, live as an insect with a human face

Today, Americans have decisively rejected Trump and his billionaire-bought politics of division, fear and hate.

Working people are fighting back against governments that serve tech oligarchs and capitalist elites instead of the people.

These are real goals to pursue. We've had impunity for political elites for far too long. It's destroying the basic fabric of democracy.

After 2024, not only did Republicans claim a sweeping mandate, a wide swath of elites rushed to treat a narrow win as a binding cultural referendum. Business leaders gave bribes, media orgs paid him over frivolous lawsuits, figures like Ezra Klein proclaimed a "vibe shift," Columbia, law firms, etc.
My other takeaway from this story is the degree to which Republicans wildly exaggerated their 2024 victory. All winning parties do this, but the degree to which the GOP reframed a narrow victory as a Reagan or FDR-like tectonic shift is remarkable.
Just brutal numbers and vibes for Republicans in this Politico story. www.politico.com/news/2026/11...

One thing Americans want to “get done” is end impunity for economic and political elites. There’s no path forward that doesn’t entail accountability for powerful people who abused the public trust, even if we haven’t yet figured out what accountability looks like.
"The American people don't want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf."

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is now poised to become the next House Speaker, says that Democrats will focus on affordability concerns and not retribution after their midterm wins.
November 4, 2026 at 1:45 PM
Political elites don't think that they have anything left to learn. That's why they are insufferable
November 4, 2026 at 7:48 AM
when Barack Obama won by 7 points (and 365 electoral votes) in 2008 and Dems gained 21 seats in the House after picking up 31 two years earlier media elites did the same "whoa whoa whoa there's no mandate it's a center-right country" bullshit because that's what they do when Republicans lose.
Coping hard, Axios this am.

One of the advantages of liberal democracy for elites is that they get to go home. Yeah you might get some policies you don’t like, taxes or regulations etc but everyone goes home when power changes. That’s not what happens in other forms of government.
lmao at all the tech billionaires who saw 2024 and went "mandate???" and tied themselves and their entire fucking industries inextricably to a sinking ship
