Anyway today I put down a gallon bag of my own seed mix: bottlebrush squirreltail (Elymus elymoides), a small native bunchgrass that can outcompete cheatgrass; Idaho fescue (Festuca idahoensis), a native western fescue; and basin wildrye (Leymus cinereus).

Mr. CMG and I went for a walk at Skokie River Nature Preserve Sunday and it was lovely—like this beautiful Elymus hystrix dancing in the dappled sunlight and breeze on a hot day.

Die Vegetation ist extrem artenarm. Überwiegend dominiert von Kriech-Quecke (Elymus repens), die sehr gut mit stark zersetztem & ausgetrocknetem Torfboden zurechtkommt.
Futterwert des Großes 🌾 = 0, mieser geht's fast nicht. Schönes Beispiel, wie man durch Entwässerung eine landwirtschaftliche...
