So... are Elymus athericus, Elymus pycnanthus/Elytrigia pycnantha, and Thinopyrum acutum all the same plant? Is there a reason at all that E. athericus isn't treated as the same species as E. pycnantha or that iNat treats them as separate?

A novel stem rust resistance gene, Sr68, was transferred from Thinopyrum junceum to wheat chromosome arm 1BS via Robertsonian translocation and ph1b-induced recombination. The translocation also eliminates Gli-B1 ω-gliadins, potentially reducing gluten immunogenicity.
