The reality is that civic engagement increases public safety and disenfranchisement doesn't deter crime. Most felony disenfranchisement laws were enacted on the heels of the civil rights movement & have roots in racism. There's no public benefit, which is why we must #EndFelonyDisenfranchisement
Plain common sense when you think about it.
You go to gaol to remove you from the community due to you breaking their guidelines/laws. When they do that you lose all the rights you have the community.
When release after deemed period all rights are restored so dey have full rights in da community.
