The Enron story is pretty incredible. Basically it's just "Enron made 60% of its revenue by paying 10 billion dollars to pretend it had 100 million more in revenue for one quarter. In actuality, Enron had made $23.48 on its 1.3 billion dollars invested."

I am 100% certain every Fund w/ a quant team is trying to work out when and how they can manage to find the Enron Shaped Hole out of this

The problem being, the Enron Trick is largely an artifact of 'day trading' requiring a phone and a broker

And you also BECOME 'Enron' forever, so no more career
What happens if/when one of them gets panicked and tries?

Arnold Ventures, huh?

Wouldn’t happen to be the same Arnold Ventures associated with billionaire charter school advocate John D. Arnold, right?

The same John D. Arnold who helped fund Emily Oster’s COVID school reopening data hub? The former Enron executive?

Ernst & Young is not going to risk the destruction of their *entire business* including prison terms for their senior accountants in order to help one client cook their books.

They don’t do that.

I'm old enough to remember that after the collapse of Enron and the disgrace of its Harvard MBA CEO Jeffrey Skilling, Harvard Business School announced that henceforth their very top priority, their main goal, would be to deeply instill the importance of Ethics in their graduates.

ENRON. It sets the stage for everything. For some reason, a Worldcom movie was never made as far as I know.

as the AI bubble pops, it's crucial to remember the entire reason for the past decade and a half of tech fuckups is because capitalism is out of steam. it can only ever produce enron 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and new forms of rentierism, nothing else. chronic wasting disease as an economic system.
