What if power-ups weren’t rewards… but irreversible damage? That’s the question that started everything. I imagined people whose abilities came at the cost of destroying themselves. Blood. Muscle. Skin. Bones. Brain. The idea was heavily inspired by One Piece. I loved the concept of transformations, but I kept wondering: What if every transformation brought you closer to your own end instead of making you stronger? That question became the first version of DRIVE: an AI-powered prompt experience where every playthrough was different. But something never felt right. I loved the concept. I didn’t love the world I’d built around it. So I did something I never thought I’d do. I deleted almost everything and started over. The meaning of the Drive changed. The universe changed. Only one thing survived: Silas. Everything that exists today—from SILAS to INMATE:6382, from AEGIS to Halloran—grew from that single decision. Sometimes the best thing you can do for an idea… …is let its first version die.

One Last Dance didn’t just aggressively change the direction of DRIVE.

Apparently, its structure is now complicated enough that the DRIVE core itself needs an upgrade. 😂
