Narrative violation:
The leftist housing orgs also just completely swamp the YIMBY movement in total donations. It’s gotta be at least 10:1. PolicyLink is bringing in literally 10x what California YIMBY brings in. The YIMBY movement is *very* grassroots and poorly funded compared to its detractors from the left.

Arsenal are refereed by narrative

For those pushing that narrative “steady” meant “white” and “safe” meant “hwhiiiiiiiiiiIiiiIIIIIIIiiiite.”
I was just thinking about this. Stevens was seen as the steady safe hand despite instantly being the single weirdest human being anyone has ever seen and the closest analogue I have for her is Eric Adams
As an outsider, it seems like Hailey Stevens is giving some really strong, seriously dodged a bullet vibes lately.

"Democrats in Disarray" is still the MSM's default narrative.

The BBC's current narrative is that national net zero regulations mean that councillors are forced to greenlight solar projects even when they don't want them - which is always for reasons of aesthetics. Their "hands are tied", you see. This is a Reform narrative.

....literally where was this narrative in 2024 when Trump won in a very close election?
There's a difference between a blowout and a mandate. Confusing the two could tempt Democrats to overread the results and forget the serious credibility problem they still face heading into 2028.
Democrats could learn wrong message from a blowout victory
A big Election Night could mask the party's larger image problem.

I see the penalty pull will be the narrative with no mention of Nyoni's two challenges. Cool. Cool.

Essential point here is that the emerging narrative downgrading a Dem win very much impacts what comes next
Good on Greg pushing back hard against the conventional wisdom in Dc already being set up to undercut any notion of a mandate for Dems to hold the Trump regime accountable for rein in corruption which has a direct impact on cost of living.
I also challenge this idea that if Dems win big, it'll be less a "blue wave" than just Republicans staying home. I note that D candidates are winning indys/driving voter enthusiasm (@gelliottmorris.com good on this too).

Charlie Cook engages on this at some length:

lol even the Schumer statement is basically "FUCK YOU, YOU GUTLESS ASSWIPE," and yet the narrative persists.

And Cooper didn't even push back on Stevens' "he got angrier and angrier" narrative. Like, ask for examples ffs! You know, like a journalist!

can we use an analogy that doesn’t further the false allegations narrative tho?
November 3, 2026 at 12:44 AM
this is what I mean when I say that this is wish-casting. this is a narrative in search of evidence.

Or you could know, but don’t care because it advances the preferred narrative

There’s a lot going on in Alaska — and a big narrative being built. But for what?

bsky.app/profile/greg...
Trump's federal lawsuit demanding that Alaska refuse to certify a Peltola win is bullshit. It's designed to create the *impression* of confusion, which he'll then use to pressure Gov not to certify her and press Senate Rs not to seat her. It will fail but do damage.

The media narrative is that Democrats are always striving for power, while Republicans are always deserving of it.

There are no conditions Dems could fulfill to justify their control of government

A white kid shoots up a school. A white man shoots a conservative commentator. A white billionaire runs a child trafficking ring with a white heiress. A white senator takes bribes. But according to the conservative narrative, America is being ruined by brown people and Muslims. Make it make sense.
