And if you want to find it, go play in some dirt or swim in a pond. Because that's where it grows naturally. In soil it's commonly associated with roots as an epiphyte or endophyte.

It's so weird you'd obsess over tiny amounts of a usually harmless bacterium when livestock waste constantly sickens.

Temperate Rainforest Ecosystem featuring bryophytes (mosses) colonizing a mature vascular host tree (conifer) and its exposed root flares. The moss-covered root system provides a complex habitat (microniche) for soil microfauna, invertebrates, tardigrades & beneficial mycorrhizal. #ecology #nature

A gardening myth busted: Spanish moss isn't parasitic; it's a harmless air plant (epiphyte). It clings to branches for support, but the roots do not pierce the bark or rob the tree of any nutrients. More myth-busters at UF/IFAS Gardening Solutions: buff.ly/UYJugZ3

A more universal correct way to grow house plant like is to use planter that have many opening holes at the bottom and use materials that is well drained and lose (barks, coconut coir, rocks, mixed with potting mix).
Specifically for thia fern, it's a "epiphyte" that naturally not grow in soil...
