Stop doing queer taxonomy. All my homies hate queer taxonomy.

Biologists stopped doing taxonomy by observation and started doing it by evolutionary descent because observation didn't work and understanding the structuring force (natural selection) did. It carved nature at the joints.

On Taxonomy:
Also these were Nerds. Not Dorks. Silicon Valley is all dorks now. Musk, Zuck, Altman, all dorks. Dorks are stupid, unlike Nerds, who are smart. The Jocks are also stupid, but they're popular so don't get affected the same way as The Dorks. Musk is a Dork who convinced Kara Swisher he was a Nerd.
The nerds were nerds (not business types) and were making cool shit just to see if they could. So it had to work if they wanted it to catch on. Now we make excuses for why it's OK that the computer tells teenagers to kill themselves and please give us more money so it won't do that in the future.

Scrambled eggs. Coffee. Lot of water and fruit juice. Ideally some ginger ale too, to settle the stomach.

I have an entire taxonomy of hangovers.

This is a BIG WEEK for avian taxonomy! This week, the newly revised 2026 avian taxonomy is released. Look for 202 newly updated species profiles; an in-depth explanation of all the changes; and an upcoming "What's New in Avian Taxonomy” webinar. birdsoftheworld.org/bow/home.

Also, sorry, completely derailed your thing. But yeah, queer taxonomy bad, unless it's funny (it's still bad, but I let it go).

I do think “Thancred keeps asking Urianger for his LGBT letter using eorzean slang for gay taxonomy that Urianger has never heard and does not understand,” is still a really funny concept though so it’s going on the website.

This seems like the correct taxonomy, good call

It really sounds like a taxonomy made necessary by the subcultural expectation of high sexual availability, and performing roles, as default assumptions. Maybe I'm missing something.

i confess that i have not always loved it as a taxonomy, it has seemed at times to me like a blunt tool, and has felt like people sometimes use it improperly. but well, if you spend enough time observing "the discourse" and seeing how transfems are treated online it makes sense why it emerged.

Did you know a bunch of mammals, including platypuses which are mammals for some reason (taxonomy = because we decided on a definition involving ear bones), glow under black light? I recommend a non-AI image search for mammals that glow under black light.
