A Russian fighter jet crashed into a pole and fence in Yerevan, Armenia, overnight, local media report. The incident occurred around 2:15 local time; no injuries were reported. The road to Erebuni airport was temporarily closed by police and military.

Russia has just completed resupplying its 102nd Military Base in Gyumri, Armenia, not far from Azerbaijan. 3,000 soldiers are posted there.
There’s also a Russian airbase at Erebuni Airport near Yerevan with a squadron of attack helicopters.

Russia has just completed resupplying its 102nd Military Base in Gyumri, Armenia, not far from Azerbaijan. 3,000 soldiers are posted there.
There’s also a Russian airbase at Erebuni Airport near Yerevan with a squadron of attack helicopters.

Apart from ground troops, Russian has both helicopters and some 16-18 MiG-29s at Erebuni Air Base.
The Armenian Government has denied the reports about Russia shoring up its forces in the country. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan seem quite unimpressed with Russia for now.

What is really deceptive is that on 19 Apr when the aircraft left Erebuni it listed its takeoff location as being in Igdir TUR (red dot). I believe these flights flew the routes they did to try and hide them from AZE. Nice try – but no cigar!
