#Esolang
😀 I have accidentally stumbled upon the best-possible scripting language.

my personal favorite esolang but now that you mention it I bet the state of the art is radically different than when I last poked around

Join us this Wednesday for a special workshop: Esolangs for Artists with @dtemkin.bsky.social . Discover where code meets art and explore the colorful world of esoteric languages. No prior knowledge needed! The event will be in English. Don't miss out!

Esolangs for Artists – workshop with Daniel Temkin - Računalniški muzej
What happens when programming languages aim not at functionality and efficiency, but at irritation and reflection, or act like poetry? In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll explore esolangs: languages that do exactly that. They include code written as images, as sound, or in forms that no computer can decode. Each esolang offers a new take on

Part of why Im wanting to go external so Im not dependant on whatever update schedule any given host language has.

My DSL is also fundamentally at odds with most advice for DSL design as it evolved out of an Esolang that began to generalize become more broadly useful.

I think technically because Ouvert is set to append, you could use that to send all piggies to the obelisk, and have the algorithm shuffle them ( Oink! ), remove duplicates, and sort them by piggy size.

Did I say this started out as an esolang?

Scripting language certainly feels like a joke:

An entire esolang as a subroutine based on three little pigs.

And yes, I'm fully aware that this looks very much like Entropy from @dtemkin.bsky.social's 44 esolangs...

If it comes up, this DSL / Esolang is "Clemot-Symbol-Numot" token order.

Yes it feels very much like a joke language, that's because it evolved out of an esolang I was developing:

obelisk1-obelisk4 sends stuff to an urn in an obelisk.

While scash scatters ashes, and that's how it passes down knowledge from one generation to the next.

Good news: I successfully wrote a fully functional and mostly accurate parser for an esolang today

Bad news: I now need to get nvim-treesitter to recognize the queries. Because it's from a custom language which means. It. Doesn't like loading queries

for some reason this post gave me an idea for an esolang where all the numbers are represented as finger counting, i.e. left pinky, right ring finger, etc
September 16, 2026 at 8:33 PM
Granted the esolang goes further and measures what happens when a whole society is built on predicting local burial practices. It was never meant to become actually useful.

I feel like there's an opening for a Lua-wrapper esolang named Luann. But that's as far as I've gotten

operators*. those operators’ names are unpronounceable mnemonics that are rendered as one big ligature each, with the ability to extend them to change the operator’s precedence (longer = binds less tightly). cute esolang idea at least in part

Programming can take many different forms. It can even be art! We are thrilled to announce we'll be hosting a workshop with @dtemkin.bsky.social , where anyone can discover very special programming techniques for artists!
