#Evenki
An old question/debate among cultural anthropologists: Why did the Sami (Scandinavia) & Evenki (Siberia) herd reindeer, but natives in North American didn't, their only domesticated animal being the dog? Outliers say they did (see Farley Mowat).
In South America, llamas were domesticated.

I'm thinking domestication (horse, cows, pigs, sheep, ...), the idea of it, happened after the migration across the Bering Strait. The Sami & Evenki had examples to give them the idea to herd reindeer. Maybe in the "New World" it didn't occur to them that it could be done?

It isn't accepted by you, though. You think that genocidal raping and pillaging in the name of Holy Russia One and Indivisible is just and righteous and if a few Mongolians and Evenki suffer the savagery of Russian Kulturny behavior, so what?

--REH's writing turns out differently, perhaps substantially so? Perhaps Conan is not Cimmerian, but Evenki? Perhaps Sailor Steve Costigan becomes someone else entirely, and Howard's humor writing (which is surprisingly good a lot of the time) acquires an Ernest Bramah archness?

“It is noted that due to the high cost of air delivery, retail prices for food products have increased and become unaffordable for socially vulnerable groups of citizens.”

These flights have to be subsidized, but the regional & federal budgets are struggling.

“From blessings of Earth and Sky does man derive his life.”

I encountered these words in the Evenki exhibition at the Pitt Rivers Museum. They reminded me of what I had learnt through Gakkeido, and I found myself wondering: why did they feel so close? (From the Team)

That encounter, and the question it opened, became the starting point for this programme.

This October, we invite you to explore relationships between people, nature and spirits through the Museum’s Evenki collections and Gakkeido, a living Japanese folk religious tradition. (From the Team)
