A Slight Curvature Gives Pebbles an Impacting Edge
Pebbles that are slightly curved—rather than completely flat—exert the highest impact forces when dropped onto a watery surface.

Plant-based milks aren’t simple liquids. Most behave as #NonNewtonian fluids, flowing more easily under stress due to tiny amounts of added gums. A reminder that everyday fluids can hide complex physics.

The ingredients for an unbeatable squash shot
In four-walled racket sports such as squash, one type of shot reigns supreme: the nick. It occurs when a player hits the 4-centimeter ball to the right-angled spot where the wall of the court meets th...

Why Is Ice Slippery?
In 1859 Michael Faraday postulated that a thin film of liquid covers the surface of ice—even at temperatures well below freezing. Neglected for nearly a century, the dynamics of ice surfaces has now g...

This is a remarkable agreement between the two methods. Tbh, I am very surprised it worked out so well.
