#Expensable
tax expensable birthday shopping spree

it's due to corporate expense policies. Rooms need to be under a certain $/night to be eligible, but additional fees for internet/parking/etc. on top of the room are expensable. Breaking them apart lets them charge more in total without driving away potential customers.

Still thinking about that author who spent $44k on marketing.

I wonder how much of that was expensable?

(And here’s me wondering if I can expense the $170 I paid to have an electrician fix the lights in my studio…)

Luckily, an advertising budget is expensable.

When I used taxis frequently (expensable) my standard conversational gambit was always: how’s business? The only problem with this method of analysis was that in 25 years I never heard a driver say: ‘It’s great! I am doing really well and have nothing to complain about.’

Yeah Rimmer! Where is my free public transport to get to and from work and my expensable lunch!?

Biggest downside of 2020 forcing everyone to learn videocalls was the decline in expensable travel, tbh.

8hrs sleep woo!
Off to London later for a meeting, off peak and expensable! 😆

I only flew on southwest when it was expensable to the company so that I could bring my fursuit on business trips and go to furry events in the evening without my manager asking why I need a checked bag

ZIRP and growth optics made hiring a kind of expensable capex. Headcount was momentum, and talent hoarding was absolutely a thing places were doing. Bloat was risk buffering. Wages got inflated, especially at the name-brand shops.

This is just reasserting cost discipline and labor leverage.

The cattle is capital. The labor force expensable.

Relevant, too. Plumpjack restaurant Jack Falstaff, near South Park, was a mid-2000s Wired staff go-to for fancier expensable meals.

The joys of work travel… calculating the maximum expensable tab. IYKYK.

11. No subsidised food. No subsidised bar. No second-home expenses, see point 2.

12. Constituency offices centrally funded and staffed with civil servants. If family members are employed then salary must come from MP, not expensable.

I’m my own Santa but hey at least it’s expensable!

And yeah… Wacom is great when it works. And then it just… doesn’t 🙄

Would be interesting to work out the hourly wage vs cost of each individual’s lunch (expensable) and point that out.
Either way if it’s during lunch it should be 100% optional.

It'd be so funny if one of those cold emails or job applications actually got me hired. Imagine the hijinks that would ensue from me having expensable income.
The Onion acquiring Infowars happened because BlueSky made a joke to @bencollins.bsky.social, and @bencollins.bsky.social working to acquire The Onion happened because he made a joke on BlueSky.

Basically, joke about your dreams on BlueSky, it's a wish factory.

Company size isn’t useful - agreed. I think in terms of workgroup and pricing scales.

Solo, Team, Org are workgroup scales.

Personal Paid, Expensable, Department Budget, Procurement, CFO sign off are pricing scales.

Yes! Let’s do that. Idk if EGX is still a thing (I’ve been out of the loop for several years) but that might be an “expensable” reason to come over to London perhaps 😅
