#Extinctify
Also too, this is really a money-laundering feud between two PACs, one run by Anthropic, and one run by OpenAI, over levels of "regulation" -- again, not over building noisy, polluting data centers in poor areas, but over "AI is gonna extinctify us all" fear-mongering.

I would 💯 extinctify that cake, it looks amazing!

So less honest than the Gestapo or perhaps, let's hope, less secure in their perfidy. [Let's use the archaic words lest they extinctify]

Good to see Bluesky flourishing today. Would've hoped for higher numbers. Let's extinctify the shit holes of Twitter and Facebook. #FuckTrump

i really hope that bringing back the dire wolf is just the first step and we'll get to the dinosaurs soon so they can extinctify humanity and reclaim the earth, all hail the dinosaurs true rulers of the planet. Let's right the wrongs of evolution, things should have stopped *jurassic park theme*

Thinking about Metroid II as a survival horror. Get someone doing a good Akira Yamaoka impression on music. Strip down the soundscape to metal on stone, awful razor sharp echoes, and the dying wails of the unlikely animals Samus is here to extinctify.

7. The alternate Wild Hunt commander says they are humans from an adjacent brane, so they are a lot like the regular ones but maybe like 20-30k ahead of them.
8.they extinctify all life in the dragonlord's policy because you can be a god in the Seelie holdings but there is only one Lord

We are required under laws that Trump will not follow...
To make Superfund sites the cleanest our skills allow...
While Asian mines extinctify dolphins, tigers and elephants...
Out chat piles and fly ash is full of rare earth elements.

The expectation is that #Irma will extinctify the Key Deer. I find this incredibly sad.

indeed, my neighbour evicted tenant to renovate for short-term accommodation. New State rules, delegated to local government are unenforceable...only hope break the duopoly with CIs & Greens & lazy Labor (extinctify).

Welp, they signaled this one by talking up the “dire wolf” project as a way to de-extinctify species we kill off.
UPDATE: The Trump administration issued a proposed rule today that would rescind nearly all habitat protections for endangered species nationwide.

You can't protect animals and plants from extinction without protecting the places they live.

But we should de-extinctify the megatheriums so that when humans go extinct there'll be someone left to disperse the avocado pits.

What could possibly go wrong?

Like, everything. Mess with the whole system, get unexpected results, extinctify life.

Tech bros FTW, amirite?
So, in this episode of @the-breakdown.bsky.social, Kim Stanley Robinson says 'no one is proposing geoengineering as a replacement for mitigation'. Lots to agree w/ KSR in this ep but this isn't right. A nice example:

The dire wolf pups are gonna take one look at the state of things in 2025, say "you fucking idiots brought us back for THIS?" and then promptly re-extinctify themselves.

Don't make me extinctify you

Another lovely episode, and well timed for half term - it was all very child friendly! 😆 Glad that my choice of coffee ice-cream to extinctify was vindicated!!! 🤢🥳

@gianttourtiere.bsky.social Technically we didn't de-extinctify the glyptodont
In this Essay, the historian Sadiah Qureshi digs deep into the science and morality of ‘de-extinction’ – the process of bringing a previously extinct species back to life via genetic technologies – and urges us to shift our focus to learning how to celebrate and mourn species
De-extinction is redefining what it means to be alive | Aeon Essays
Technologies of preserving and reviving organisms are already redefining the meaning of life, death, and extinction itself

(Incidentally, we should absolutely not extinctify mosquitos.)
February 23, 2026 at 4:52 PM
The investor pitch meeting would be incredibly short:

"Hi, we'd like to de-extinctify this very ugly toad"
"Door's behind you, don't leave anything behind."

Turns out people are people even after the natural word slash gods??? possibly??? half extinctify you all as a result of environmental hubris.

Three things can all be true:
In the next 100 years:
1) many safe-enough places will become unsafe
2)vast majority of places will be less safe
Eventually:
3) we're going to extinctify humans if we don't start massively reducing carbon and sucking it out of the air too, so none of us is "safe"
January 10, 2025 at 10:15 PM
That's a good one. (my answer is "obviously no, I am so old, and I'm wise as shit now, etc")

My go-to question of this type is "do you think we should intentially eliminate/extinctify all mosquitoes in order to prevent human diseases?"

(very feisty discussions available!)
April 14, 2025 at 11:16 PM
"Why try to protect and conserve species when we can just pay companies to semi-de-extinctify them after they're gone?"

Why are "conservatives" always so hostile to 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯?
This is why the media’s credulous boosterism for Colossal is so dangerous. “Innovation, not regulation” is tech-bro propaganda. It’s the false promise that any problem can be solved with some future breakthrough that will enable the same people who got us into this to profit from the solutions.
