Just wanted you all to know that both the former U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica and the former guitarist for The Verve Pipe follow me, so...

I’m kind of a big deal.

I’m starting to think #ExtremelyOnline libs never talk to regular humans. Is the Sorkin OpEd a misunderstanding of today’s politics? Yes. But despite sociodem/cultural sorting of the parties, there is also a LOT of NUANCED ISSUE overlap between D&R voters.
And *51%* of US voters are reg INDEP!
Misconception: Aaron Sorkin is dumb.
Correction: Aaron Sorkin is the product of a time when parties were still slightly overlapping in interests, ideology, & values. There are many Americans (age >40) who still embrace a paradigm where a fantasy of a Romney or Cheney as the D nominee makes sense.
okay it's time for a prompt post: respond to this post with a correction to a common misconception about something you know a lot about. if you feel like it, boost your response. (please use a kindly tone about it, otherwise i, your prompt curator, will get anxious.)

i also gotta remind everyone that "LatinX" was a thing for like, two weeks, within ExtremelyOnline circles, and then Spanish speakers told them to stop bc it was nonsensical. like even "woke" people didn't accept LatinX.

So, how's everyone doing with their screen time, lately? 😬 📱 💻 🖥️ 🫠

Here's a post I just did on LinkedIn, on #TechAddiction, one of my favorite topics: www.linkedin.com/posts/gregme...

TLDR: How is your relationship with screens of late? Are you online more than in the past/than you want to be? 🙏👇

This is a great article and I think it highlights how being Extremely Online is a *way of knowing*, a social epistemology, where constructs and frames that are warranted solely on the make-believe of bouncing ideas in online discourse become the lens through which participants come to know the world
We often throw the term "Extremely Online" around a lot, often as an insult to mean someone who's slightly more Online than the speaker.

So, I tried to put some philosophical handles on it.

Behold: an exhaustive definition that explains why Extreme Onlineness fucked us.

It’s absolutely feasible to be #ExtremelyOnline, and stay informed, without consuming the outputs of the industrial infotainment / attention economy, particularly broadcast nor cable TV.

Ask me how.
