Not everyone that plays gacha are gambling addicts, to be clear, but this year has been really and truly eyeopening to me with just how bad gacha really is for the industry and society as a whole and I'm kinda sick of ignoring that.
Calling everyone who plays them gambling addicts is a stretch but yes.

I took some journalism classes at UC Irvine, and it was eyeopening hearing from editors at major outlets scoff at the idea that you shouldn't immediately trust what the police are saying when folks pushed back on that assertion in a class.
Once I had a big fight with a young reporter who insisted the details of a shooting differed from my reporting which was based on videos of the incident. I illustrated how his reporting could not be true & he yelled back I’M A REAL REPORTER WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT SOURCES
