Try this. Lightly brown 1/2 an onion, add garlic, then add a good amount of sauerkraut. Pretty conventional so far.
Deglaze with rice wine vinegar. Next add a couple of tablespoons of a decent lite soy and reduce.
It's pretty damn good.
