確かに1994年当時、Windows3.1とNetscape(+Trumpet winsock w)なんかでインターネットしてた層は細々と居たんだけど、本格的な普及がWindows95によって成されたのは確かでしょう。
とはいえ1996-97年くらいまでは、まだコミュニケーションの手段はNIFTY Serve(大文字w)や草の根BBSが主で、インターネットでe-mailを使用する層はそこまで多くなかった気がする。

自分は1年くらいプロバイダ契約結ばず、NIFTYのFENICS ROAD経由でアクセスしてましたねー。通信量が凄まじかった…(普通に一月一万行った記憶がある)
