#FOCUS
Things to look at ---

Independents, young voters, and Latino voters.

I know people always focus on Dems and Republicans, but focus on these 3.

I think they will tell the story of the night.

Sen. Warnock was just asked on CNN if Dems will focus on costs *or* corruption, and he responded "We can walk & chew gum at the same time." Hell yes, that is the message.

Very disturbing to see people already making demands of Democrats. This is not the time. We have to focus on winning 2028

increasingly popular style of argument among israel's defenders is to evade the substantive questions and imply that the left's focus on israel is suspicious
Bari Weiss's resident hack Ross Douthat made a complete fool of himself on 60 Minutes, trying to claim the Saudi lobby has the same grip on Washington as AIPAC. Abdul El-Sayed immediately crushed him: 'AIPAC spent $33 million against me alone! Name another lobby doing that.' It has to make sense!🗳️🌊

His advisors had to tell him that the other November contest didn’t test well with focus groups.
I'm sporting a mustache this "Movember" to raise awareness of men’s health issues, including prostate cancer.

But this isn’t just  (upper) lip service.

This year, our administration is investing $4M toward a brand-new prostate cancer center at Kings County hospital in Brooklyn.

Main thing is, keep the focus off what Israel is doing, and keep it on its critics.

And people pretend it was his focus
Haley Stevens was buoyed into almost scraping by Abdul in their primary by a (literally) historic record cash infusion by AIPAC to the tune of $35 million, but she still lost. Partly because she insisted on making the race about pro-Israel politics, which Dem primary voters don't care about.

I’m tired of talking about a terrible woman in Michigan. Let’s talk about an AMAZING woman in Florida instead. Because if what we focus on grows—-and I believe it does— then I want to focus on what’s inspirational. And the most inspirational candidate out there, is @angieforfl.bsky.social !

I informed Harrison Butker before that kick that my wife works outside the home. I am not sure if that impacted his focus.

“The strategic question isn’t just how to appeal to the median voter, but how to build an electorate that generates a median voter favorable to your goals. So the… focus on persuading a small number of swing voters is misplaced: that focus may dampen turnout & shift the median voter to the right.”
“With an authoritarian movement capturing one major party, electoral politics has become existential conflict. This requires not moderation but mobilization, not positioning but purpose, not just messaging but genuine reform.”

@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social and @adambonica.bsky.social from February:
How Not to Defeat Authoritarianism
Moderation used to help Democrats win, but its advantages now have been greatly exaggerated.

there is still a lot of data to sift through but i will not be shocked to see that the obsessive republican focus on anti-trans ads led voters to see candidates as *out of touch* with more material concerns
it's important to keep the facts in mind:

▪️this election was largely fought on trans rights & immigration

▪️the vast, vast majority of dems are pro-trans & anti-ice

▪️they just achieved the most impressive election win of my lifetime
a bunch of British politics and media wonks are now going to slither out of the walls like Grima Wormtongue and tell Dems to get more transphobic. It’s vitally important they be shoved into lockers: they would say that whatever the result because they are insane
