A macro image of a single false sunflower blossom taken in the evening light at Queen's Park. A thin green stem supports the bright yellow bloom. The denser center of the flower faces upward with its long narrow petals flaring out around it. The camera is fairly level with the blossom and it sits centrally in the frame. The background is roughly divided in two sections of colour. The bottom half is a mix of blurred greens and yellows from the surrounding plant. In the upper half, the glass and brick front of the legislature building is a wash of vaguely geometric sections of purple and blue thanks to the evening light. Above the flower and slightly right, one of the large lamps along the pathway has been reduced to an orb of pale yellow light. Below the flower to the left of the stem are two further echoes of the lantern. Shadows of the flower appear on these light flares like tiny eclipses.
