I imagine that Soap's death still haunts Price and considering how he's doing, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually hallucinated him.

PS1-esque 3d rendering of a low poly wooden desk on a brick floor with identical brick walls Screenshot from Forspoken showing Frey Holland without her cloak, back faced towards the camera, as she stares at the disorganized pile of books heaped haphazardly on a wooden desk, surrounded by floor to ceiling bookshelves with little room for more books

I made changes lol

Not because I wanted to, but because Blender 5.0 did something that made the alpha channels screwy. But it's done! Cinta has her pretty sword in the forest glittering with magic :3

Sila's was more dynamic but I really like this 💜

I don't want to make any more changes o.o

Not ready for the final render; I'm going back to full resolution in Cycles which takes 10-12 minutes/frame to render. 720 frames x 12 minutes = 6 days. I need to replace my iPad first. I miss ProCreate ;-;

Discovery: my new puter doesn't choke and die when I try to render with EEVEE :D

I hid the environment bc even EEVEE takes a few minutes to render and I wanted to get a test out ASAP. Still got work to do, but it'll go by faster now :3

Yet! More! Subtle differences! *celebratory kazoo noises*

Anyway I want to keep poking around in the shader network for the ribbons so I can get shorter visible segments. Some of them are getting way longer than I want. Or overlapping. Or both.

Subtle differences are once again subtle! And I once again had more changes I wanted to make so those are rendering out now :P

Depending on how those turn out, though, I think I'm done tweaking it? Idk we'll see

More subtle differences! But I'm happy with the progress, we've come such a long way :')

Still more changes I want to make—I think I figured out a better way to animate the trees blowing in the wind—so not quite done yet!

Subtle difference is subtle, but I like how it's coming along :)

Still got a few tweaks to make and I want to see if I can make the vines near the base of the sword a little fuller. Maybe I can even figure out how to make the trees glow with Break...

So this took longer to render than anticipated and I had to cancel the last 30 frames so I could do my art for the night. Definitely happy with those vines, but now I have fixes to do to the magic ribbon lol

I think I'm happy with this, so I'm gonna run a test animation render overnight and see if I still like it in motion :)

And the results are inconclusive! An even 50/50 split across the board lol

Guess I have to be an adult and make my own decisions. Oh darn :P

I need opinions! More leaves on the vines or less leaves on the vines?

I've already asked my Discords and Tumblrs. I thus far have one solid vote for more and one wobbly vote for less lol

Yaaaay, the vines are coming along nicely :3

Still have some playing around to do, but I'm happy with where we're going!

And I thought I was done before I got my new puter~ Boy was I wrong! ...or I'm being a perfectionist. One of them. :P

I think I figured out how to get the vines to go where I want how I want them. Now to make the leaves stop clipping through the sword :)

Dunno when next I'll do an animation test render for this, but the vines are coming along nicely! Might scrap them entirely and redo them from the ground up tho; the setup I've got might be too messy to salvage. Idk, we'll find out together!

Back to making progress on this baby! Tweaked the magic ribbons and grass distribution, added camera movement, and now I'm working on making those vines around the sword look how I want them to :3

To prep for the imminent arrival of my new 'puter (next payday + shipping), I rendered out Cinta's sword at full size and the default 4096 samples.

Y'all.

It took over eight and a half hours.

Can't wait to see how fast the new machine does it! :D

PERFECT!

Now I just need a computer that won't need to run 24 hours a day for over a week to render this at a decent resolution :P

Friday I find out if I can finance my new computer or if I have to wait until I can pay 100% out of pocket!

SOONish 👀

Almost done! One more test render, and unless something needs fixing, this should be the last scene tweak I can do with this computer. Those results will be up on Wednesday :)

The rest will have to wait til I get my new computer. Hopefully soon 🤞🏼

There we go, that's much better than the other night. Only ten seconds this time, but it showed me some more tweaks I want to make!

Part of me wants to wait to get my new computer before I finish this. The rest of me isn't that patient...
