start using "fanworks" again instead of "content" let's go people
"Content" is a blatantly misleading term to use for fanworks. Fanworks are the antithesis of content; content is produced for individual gain and consuming, whereas fanworks are created out of inspiration and the communal experience.

even if AI had zero environmental impact and it wasn’t built on stolen work i would still reject the idea of making fanworks out of it. fanworks are made out of PASSION, by FANS, otherwise you missed the point.

fanfiction etiquette has really gone out the window. remember: the back button is your best friend. critiquing fanworks like they are professional works is unnecessary. engaging with works is what keeps authors writing.

Big fan of fanworks that's like "character realizes Tenna has fangs for some reason then gets flustered about that new information" #tenna #deltarune #battat

The only thing cooler than getting love on my own fanworks is influencing others to make fanworks through my stupid ideas and shitposts. That's the most fun part of fandom--finding inspiration in others and giving it back

It's actually so important to say nice things about the fanworks you love in a place where the creator can see them.

The downside of this is that pornographic media seem to get way fewer genuinely-unhinged fanworks, presumably because there's no need for fanworks in order to see characters engaging in explicit dirty fuckin. Which stinks! I want more fanworks!!!
Like at least in porn if you include a shot of a foot or if the characters are furries or if someone gets inflated or petrified or mind-controlled, it might be a thing to jack off about, or it might not, but either way it's not worth comment because this is a jack-off-about-it work

I've been making a genuine effort to use the term "fanworks" instead of "content"
I feel like it's important, with the rise of fandom fracturing into a "consumer demands" type of vibe instead of the old hobby enjoying and friendship vibe I am more used to

This is why we encourage Gunmetal Olympus fanworks and also let people monetize :)
8. Copyright should be greatly reduced. The reality is humans crave to build on others stories. It's why we have so much fun making OCs in fandom universes from the Naruto OC Craze to MHA OCs to Spider-sonas folks want to build on art and we're being denied our natural instinct by capital.

Now and then I stop and think about how my plan for my PhD was to be the first lawyer to solve the fanworks problem in copyright law and four years later my thesis was about why 25 years worth of smart lawyers and also me haven't solved the fanworks problem in copyright law.
