I finally finished my latest ficbind after 6 MONTHS on and off!! It has really helped me retain my sanity in this hell month. Made both a softcover and hardcover, and designed the cover and interiors too!

Why More People Should #Ficbind: Bookbinding is 80 different crafts in a trenchcoat. Look at this. I'm making faux stained glass for a book. I never would have touched stained glass in any capacity if it weren't for the fact the vibes are /so good/ for this fic.

took a break from my ficbind(s) in progress to make a sketchbook for someone dear to me. I made the raised pentagon with card glued to the cover, and then formed the leather around it. This was a fun technique I'll definitely keep in mind for the future!

Finished the first book of my next set! I'm binding all the TGCF fics written by @kianspo.bsky.social and started with 'Jingwei Tries to Fill the Sea" (link below). I had a great time on this bind and really love the collage covers made of handmade paper (I might carry the theme with other binds!)

Yes I love the coptic stitch. I made 3 notebooks for some family members for Christmas and they all loved them. I have used kettle stitch twice for some ficbinds but casing the text block is very frustrating for me. My next ficbind might just use coptic stitch so I won't have to deal with the spine.

also my experiments with nail transfer foil did not produce satisfactory results, so I might have to come up with something else for my planned ficbind... times like this I sure wish I was good at painting so i could just paint the edges
