#FileTypes
Used it this summer for a presentation, it was fine.
Interface a bit janky at times, but overall a correct experience.
AFAICT it can import and export to Office filetypes without messing up files.
Bonus points for being OSS and exactly zero AI bullshit.

Pardon the colours. Bsky doesn't accept .jxr files yet and I haven't found a way to convert HDR screenshots to regular filetypes without them getting blown up

Three attempts to upload, three different filetypes, all upload as a black image. You know what, sure.

Like this is obviously partially a problem with websites very frequently failing to add the new file extensions to their list of supported filetypes for uploads but also at a certain point it's not the web developer's problem if the images they serve won't open in your pirated copy of Photoshop CS6

I tried a few different filetypes. The first ones were png files that Dressmaker saved. Then I resaved as jpg. This one was just a screenshot of the game. I think jpg

what if projects have multiple files with multiple filetypes? i dont really do project -> filetype but project -> category -> files (etc)

My guess is that they vibed up something that can input and output Adobe's filetypes and do a rough approximation of the tools

And they could do that because the source for a morbillion open source programs that already do that is lurking in Claude's database

it'd make sense if either app had the ability to let you download games or programs or something, but surely there should be SOME kind of option to filter automated/tracked downloads for monitored shows that aren't just the normal filetypes???

Euuugggghhdhshhhhggg yeah.

No yeah. Like the seamless sending your shit back and forth without any proprietary shit(god fuck you samsung sony and apple. Fuckin specific filetypes).
And android 17? Ew. Ewwwwww.
My phone keeps trying to get me to update and no. It's ALL ai shit i don't want.

im really loving edge3... its got a similar workflow to aseprite (and also thankfully imports its filetypes) but it cuts out a lot of the stuff that i find annoying. it's nice having a usable rotation tool
October 4, 2026 at 3:37 PM
it's neat that all the art assets were manually made or just ripped from the game, but without any source code im not buying the "it was just an automatic conversion of simple filetypes" excuse fully and you're still actively funding the sloppier sides of ai by buying tokens

I wanted to look at some of the scripts for a Half-Life 2 mod I was playing, so I got the VPKedit tool and noticed that the icons for this tool and its associated filetypes have the trans flag on them. G-man confirmed trans?

Here on Bluesky Dot App Dot Com we like to make fun of GnuIMP (Gimp) when people suggest artists drop established workflows for it.

But one place GIMP has my back is opening filetypes no one else cares to support. Especially .ICOs and .HEICs. Open them… so that I can edit them somewhere else. 💀💧

There are a handful of other file extensions you'll see, too. I had one that was SWC; dunno exactly what that stands for, but it's probably the same kind of deal.

I think the main thing that differentiated any of the filetypes was the presence/size of a header containing identifying info.

TLDR:

#neovim Development News

The 0.12 version updates LSP client data to store `languageId` string per attached buffer.

PR:
- github.com/neovim/neovi...
fix(lsp): send didClose and didOpen when languageId changes by phanen · Pull Request #39499 · neovim/neovim
Problem: If a buffer's filetype changes after the LSP client has already attached (e.g. from json to jsonc via a modeline), but the client supports both filetypes, it stays attached. It does no...

Fair warning I have strong opinions on what UIs can be and oughta be so I went insanely overboard and threw in a file manager, git functions, and a web viewer for common agent-produced filetypes like text files, code files, and PDFs.

Unfortunately that means this thing is gonna be a WHILE to ship.

I've used czkawka specifically for deduplicating pictures, can't speak to its utility for other filetypes
