This would be in addition to FirsNet, not instead of. And it would leave the FirstNet core and spectrum untouched.
As Congress reauthorizes FirstNet, it should require true device interoperability for 2026, not 2001.

Today, as a result, we have FirstNet, which is sorta kinda interoperable like my email was in 2001. But in 2026, we can do better. That's why @publicknowledge.bsky.social

A lot of EMS are on their own services. When I had a job in environmental services managing phone lines, I had a phone on FirstNet (AT&T, Verizon’s is Frontline) and that thing *always* had service. Five day power outage after a windstorm? Regional network outage? Blizzard? My work phone was fine.
