I’ve got so good at programming Gotek to FlashFloppy at this point it’s almost natural🤡

Todays build was also another flashfloppy pcb but for the Tatung Einstein. It uses the 3” drive but the drive is different to the CPC and Spectrum
Its slightly bigger and also its an Edge connector like on 5.25” PC Drives
All works, and yes will print a black case for it

The Gotek I ordered from Ali Express arrived today. Looks fine. Still waiting on ribbon cable and drive edge connectors then we’re good to go. Might flash it first with FlashFloppy. Don’t think there is a floppy cable in my PC box to test in that first.

The Gotek I ordered from Ali Express arrived today. Looks fine. Still waiting on ribbon cable and drive edge connectors then we’re good to go. Might flash it first with FlashFloppy. Don’t think there is a floppy cable in my PC box to test in that first.
Back onto the Gotek this lunchtime. Checking the OLED wiring is correct before I solder the headers in for the rotary encoder. Nice.

My 1st FlashFloppy - Gotek software install using Linux is done!
It's actually easier and doesn't involve downloading a sketchy piece of Windows software, I like it!

These IDE extenders are perfect for my 486 build, so I can front mount my dual CF to IDE converter. I'm also going to go big on the Gotek Flashfloppy display.

I've flashed a few FlashFloppy drives over the years but so far this is the first one I did for the actual PCs😂

Prototyping a few ideas for the front panel build, the buttons will be flush mounted. It's a panel for the Gotek running Flashfloppy and a 7 segment MHz display.

Just ordered a Gotek from Ali Express for my Einstein. It'll need some fettling first, a 3D printed frame and dual-floppy ribbon cable will need to be made. And it'll need flashing with FlashFloppy. I've heard a lot about them, never used one in a configuration.

AtariST FlashFloppy, right one is final design, although few days ago i got a MegaSTe and a special version has been made to extend it a bit longer 😂.

Looking pretty nice, I'm just trying out drive positioning and also figuring out how best to do this custom Gotek/Flashfloppy build. I think I'm going to do a 5.25" bay Gotek, with a large screen, also install a 66 MHz indicator on there too. Need to brainstorm layouts etc.

You may have noticed I didn't retro-bright the drives, I've got some more 286 upgrade plans! 👍

You've used FlashFloppy I'm sure, but unless you've used it with an old school Vacuum Fluorescent Display have you REALLY used it?

Update - Micro gotek not happy despite having the latest flashfloppy firmware on it. Time to dismantle one of my working cased ones instead. At least doing it that way I get a working activity LED too.
