Actor Selma Blair has been arrested following an incident on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's police department. The police identified Blair, known for her roles in films such as 'Cruel Intentions' and 'Hellboy,' as the suspect in an alleged physical altercation with flight attendants on Sunday evening, October 11. Blair was taken into custody at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and transported to a hospital for evaluation. Two flight attendants reported injuries during the incident, with one being taken to a hospital for treatment. A representative for the 54-year-old actress stated that Blair experienced a medical emergency during the flight, which led to the alleged conduct. The representative added that Blair received immediate medical attention upon landing and is currently in stable condition. Blair has been open about her battle with multiple sclerosis, which she was diagnosed with in 2018. The incident has drawn attention to the challenges faced by individuals with chronic health conditions in public settings. While the police have not yet released further details on the charges, the case highlights the importance of addressing medical emergencies on flights and ensuring the safety of both passengers and crew members. The Port Authority's statement confirmed that the flight attendants reported the incident, leading to Blair's arrest and subsequent medical evaluation. This case has sparked discussions about how airlines and law enforcement handle situations involving passengers with medical conditions. The actress, who has been a vocal advocate for those with multiple sclerosis, now faces legal consequences related to her health condition. The situation underscores the need for better protocols to manage medical emergencies on flights without resorting to punitive measures. The case is ongoing, and further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
