I did all the work in Snapseed. Black and white image that is two photos combined: the original from Rock, and an image I have of tree shadows across a dirt trail. I cropped the original image down to a small portion of the reflection of the building, then added my image. Converted to B&W, then played with various settings.

I want to let the building in the light but also gove it some mysterious look, from where to go to the light. So I have playing around with the different settings and colors in Snapseed on my Samsung S 25 Ultra.

I'm not sure if/how much it counts as #FoundAbstraction (abstract is a form I’ve always struggled with), but here’s my attempt for the #ECK #EastCoastKin #PostProcess challenge.

Process in alt.
Black and white photo of the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park, Sydney, Australia (taken by @rjrock.bsky.social and processed by me). In the foreground, a Pool of Reflection leads the eye to the Art Deco memorial, behind which large buildings frame it. On the steps of the memorial sit two people. The image was edited in Darktable. I started by increasing the exposure a smidge. Then, using the Colour Balance RGB module, I made adjustments to the Global Saturation and Global Chroma. I then activated the Filmic Module, using auto-levels because it’s far smarter than I am. Then I added some local contrast. I then converted the image to black and white, using the Colour Calibration module, setting it to Ilford HP5. I activated the Tone Equaliser module, setting it to ‘soft’. Then I used the Colour Zone module (having moved it so that it sat before the black and white conversion in the order of the modules) to in effect dodge and burn the image. I flipped the image vertically, and cropped it, to make the memorial the focus, whilst also—hopefully—introducing an idea of abstraction to the image. Then, using the Graduated Density module, I darkened up the half of the image that wasn’t a reflection on the water. Finally, using the soften module, I added the smallest amount of softening (the smallest amount it would let me), to soften the image (mainly the non-reflection part) to—hopefully—lessen how immediately obvious it is which half is which.

Here's my 2nd try at the #FoundAbstraction challenge. See Alt-text for edit details, which were mostly made in Snapseed.
An abstract, tilted image of a lighted buildings at night. In Lightroom, I changed the profile to "Film Inspired 11" and made adjustments to the red curve channel and color sliders to accentuate a red tone. In Photoshop Express, I slightly distorted the shape of the main building and highrise behind it. Then in Snapseed, I fiddled with the perspective tool to elongate the image and repeat the patterns of the highrises on the sides. I selectively reduced the saturation of the center building, blurred the sides, rotated the image, and applied the "Faded Glow" look.

Rotated photo on to its side. Removed all colour and replaced with only blue and green. Fully blurred the centre and blurred the background to a lesser degree. Kind of gives a space invaders vibe I think 🤷🏼

All in Photoshop. I duplicated only the reflection around a central point... first 4 times then 16 times. Selectively blended the results by painting masks. For the border, I used a tree in the image.

Snapseed: I used the quilt squares I made as overlays. Explanation of quilt squares in my quilt post. Then I used faded curves. Then I got rid of the blue rectangle in the upper left and made it brown.
