I'm done coming up with justifications for scenes like this. I guess it's an over-scaled fox hunt chasing the wrong kind of fox

I'm gonna do a follow up to The People's Joker called "Gotham: The Trouble In Terrorist Town", which will be a /lgbt/ themed parody of Nolan's Dark Knight movies. Who wants to act in it? I will pay you a portion of the earnings and a chicken nugget with some water I got from the sink. Union friendly

...if you understand that's what happened OOC and then pull that into character as metacommentary, it means I can write stuff like this in reply, and this is VERY fun, I like doing this:
Though some scholars have called into question the gendered nature of the fox curse, the rare reports of a “man” being bitten by a foxwoman and transforming always proves incorrect, as evidence shows the curse distinguishes one’s sex by magic, not by flesh. This was popularly revealed in a tell-all interview with a foxwoman of half-human origin who had an orc father. “I always knew I wanted to be a woman, but I feared I’d never be as pretty as my mother, what with my father’s tusks and all. My girlfriend at the time, weary of my complaints, revealed herself and bit me, promising to return in a year to see if I’d sorted myself out. I did. Change didn’t even rid me of my tusks, but I don’t mind them anymore. Mostly, I regret I didn’t live my life sooner. Also, stop saying we all prey on men, steal children, and hate each other because we’re barren. Yes, we can do all that if we want to, but nobody complains when human women do it, and boy do they ever. Me though? My husband and step children love me and my ex got with another foxwoman. Good for her. Love that for her. Do they rob the odd caravan from time to time? Of course, but who doesn’t in this economy? You don’t wanna get robbed, hire some lady guards. You’re really asking for it if you don’t.”

There's also all this weird sexist shit in the lore, and the solution is to just pretend it was all written by a bunch of shitty cishet human men projecting their owned fucked up ideas onto things. Largely because that's what happened OOC, I mean, look at this stuff, it's bad, right? Buuuuuuuuut...
Forgotten Realms Wiki - Werefox Description Like all lycanthropes, werefoxes had three forms, called their humanoid, vixen, and fox form- vixen being the term they used for the hybrid form. In their humanoid form, foxwomen were described as resembling beautiful elven females with silver or silver-streaked hair with a pronounced widow's peak. In the vixen, or hybrid, form, werefoxes retained their elf-like form but with a fox-like head and tail, and silvery fur covering the entire body. In both the humanoid and hybrid forms, werefoxes would wear loose clothing. The third form was that of a large silver fox. Personality Werefoxes were extremely self-centered, self-serving, hedonistic, and vain. They had no ambitions beyond pampering themselves. Because of their self-centered nature, foxwomen viewed each other as rivals. Abilities Werefoxes had some few odd abilities, such as infravision, and an exceptional resistance to sleep and charm magic. They also could pass on their curse with their bite, though only in the vixen form. The only major magical gift they possessed was that any and all humanoid (oft listed as "humans, humanoids, and demihumans") males with only average wisdom were magically charmed by the foxwoman in her humanoid form. In their fox form, a were fox was fast, could pass without trace, and was easy to loose sight of in underbrush. Werefoxes, like other lycanthropes, could only be harmed by silver or magicked weapons. Additionally, any scars faded within the month. Combat Foxwomen could fight with their teeth when in fox or vixen form, while in humanoid form they fought with either sword or bow. Ecology [illustration of a werefox, mid-transformation.] A werefox, mid-transformation. Werefoxes inhabited woodlands, making their lairs well away from humanoid communities; these lairs were either well-hidden cottages or cave complexes, and in either case were filled with human comforts. They did not gather in groups, but each foxwoman would be accompanied by a handful of charmed males, preferably human, half-elves, or elves. They did not, however, keep dwarven, halfling, or gnome males around, instead killing them. The curse of werefox lycanthropy could only be passed to human, half-elven, or elven females; upon acquiring the curse humans would gradually shift to a more elf-like humanoid form, though any odd markings such as tattooes or birthmarks remained. It also left them barren, meaning that foxwomen had to kidnap or adopt children if they wanted them; in such cases they would infect the girl with lycanthropy at a young age. According to some accounts, they preferred to steal elven girls. The patron deity of werefoxes was the goddess Eshebala. Homelands In Faerûn werefoxes could be found in the starwood region of Cormanthor, as well as in the cities and villages of Cormyr, Sembia, and the Dalelands. In the land of Kara-Tur, they were typically encountered within its temperate forests and swamps. History In 1357, when the Circus of Doctor Trundles visited the town of Valls, a foxwoman was among its caged collection of monsters.

or even 'Autumnal Arboretum'...
Went to Kew Gardens last week and encountered some beautiful ginkgo trees, and met a beautiful (and very well-nourished) fox.
the dream of the Foxwoman was vaguely inspired by the Wolfman's dream (it's a thing) but this dream is full of adventure and joy 🦊🌀🌘

I revisited a particular panel. Love it.

A mature auburn-haired fox woman stands in warm late-afternoon light inside a cozy rustic café, holding a white mug in both hands. She wears a softly rumpled white button-up shirt beneath high-waisted teal utility overalls with broad suspenders and cargo pockets. Seen in three-quarter profile, she glances toward the viewer with amber eyes and a subtle, knowing half-smile. Large auburn fox ears rise through her tousled hair, and a huge fluffy auburn-and-cream tail sweeps behind her. Sunlight catches the edges of her hair, clothing, and tail while shelves, bottles, plants, and a chalkboard soften into the warmly lit background.

A four-panel character study of Becca, a mature auburn-haired fox woman with freckles, amber eyes, large fox ears, and an enormous cream-tipped tail, wearing a rumpled white work shirt, deep teal high-waisted utility overalls, and brown work boots in a warmly sunlit rustic pantry shop. The large left panel shows her full-body from the front, one hand tucked casually into a pocket and the other holding a coffee mug. Three smaller panels at right show her glancing back over her shoulder, standing in relaxed side profile with the mug, and viewed from behind, revealing the crossed suspender straps and centered tail emerging from the rear of the trousers. Wooden shelves, jars, plants, and golden afternoon light fill the cozy background.

Becca, a mature auburn-haired fox woman with freckles, amber eyes, large fox ears, and a huge cream-tipped tail, sits barefoot with her legs folded on a floor cushion beside a sunlit window. Wearing an oversized gray T-shirt and loose plaid lounge pants, she turns over her shoulder toward the viewer with a small, knowing smile while holding a coffee mug. Her messy wolf-cut hair catches the warm late-afternoon light. Books, plants, rugs, and worn furnishings give the room a cozy, lived-in feel.

Stylized portrait of Foxy, a mature auburn foxen woman in left-facing profile, wearing a fitted black garment with floral lace side panels and dark draped trousers. Her tousled auburn hair, fox ears, and large cream-tipped tail are sharply outlined by brilliant crimson rim light against a stark white background. Her torso twists dynamically beneath an extended arm, creating a strong sweeping silhouette with warm skin tones, cool blue-black shadows, and vivid red highlights.

A richly detailed fantasy portrait of Foxy, a mature auburn fox woman, standing before an enormous luminous golden-amber full moon. Her tousled dark-auburn hair and large fox ears are sharply rim-lit against the moon, framing a warm freckled face with quietly confident amber-gold eyes that echo the moon’s color. She wears layered near-black robes and a heavy dark feathered mantle fastened with ornate bronze clasps, accented by a small turquoise pendant and matching earring. Part of her substantial auburn-and-cream fox tail appears at the right edge. The intensely textured golden moon fills almost the entire background, creating a dramatic, monumental silhouette while the dark clothing keeps attention centered on her face.

A richly detailed ornamental illustration of Foxy, a mature auburn-haired fox woman, quietly looking down at a floral porcelain teacup cradled in both hands. Her tousled hair and large fox ears are framed by an intricate circular medallion surrounded by curling vines, leaves, and flowers. She wears flowing cream and muted teal botanical robes with an ornate woven sash, while her enormous auburn-and-cream tail sweeps upward beside her. The antique parchment palette and dense linework evoke an illuminated manuscript or Art Nouveau textile, contrasting the elaborate surroundings with her peaceful, introspective expression.

Nobody asked, but I decided to repurpose some sketch practice as an excuse to ask my girls the most important question I could think of, 'Who's your favorite Touhou character?'

Because I need to become much more abnormal about my girls on main
Cassidy the elf girltwink talking about Raiko Horikawa, saying, "Yeah okay look, I get it, 'oh of course the drummer likes the drum girl', but like. Look at her. She's a glam-rock redhead bombshell bad bitch. She's fucking goals. Her thighs would be living gods by the time I'm done worshipping them." Iris the sopping-wet pathetic 25-year-old grown-ass foxwoman is bawling her eyes out emotionally describing the backstory of Byakuren Hijiri. Her words are indistinct between sobs, half cut off by the top of the image and half hidden behind herself. Upon getting asked the same question as the others, Jade, a wolfgirl so wild that she doesn't even know what Touhou is (smh), looks at a picture of Marisa Kirisame's canonical pet tsuchinoko, and says "I dunno. This thing is funny. I want to chew on it." Red Seselia, otherwise outwardly cool wolfgirl, trying to maintain a neutral expression and *not* profess all the affection and lust she feels towards the character, design and backstory of Sengo Sanada, extra boss from Touhou fangame 'Book of Star Mythology'. All she says out loud is "I just think she's neat." Her cloud of unspoken thoughts reads, "You know, I understand why someone would t hink I like Momiji best. And I mean. They're not wrong. I love that thing. But also, have you heard of Book of Star Mythology? It's from this series of fan games by Kaisendo that have like, almost more production value than the real ones sometimes, and like. Half of the characters are based on the zodiac and that's cool. But see the extra boss bucks that trend and is just like. Okay so her name is Sengo Sanada, right. She's a tsukumogami. I don't remember why she's involved here but it's not important. She's a tsukumogami of straight-up a real-ass historical Muramasa-smithed sword. Like one that actually existed and was used in real life. And there's a whole story about how this sword got traded for bridge fair right. Because the dude was all 'I have a cool naginata now I don't need this'. So now she has like, attachment issues with abandonment, right. But also she uses a naginata and I just think that's funny. Like she's trying to see the appeal. Or maybe she doesn't have confidence in swords anymore. Anyway her whole fight is like. Literally a retelling of the history of the group her wielder was a part of. Because it's her sales pitch. She's trying to convince you to pick her up and swing her. She wants a new owner so bad. It's fucking hilarious. I love her so much. She looks like Black*Rock Shooter. If I ever die and get isekai'd into Gensokyo I'm going to be on some Soul Eater shit with her. You have no idea. It'd be great. Rip to that guy who sold her but I'm different. I'd treat her right. God I want to use her twintails like handlebars and just go to town on that ass."

a mature auburn-haired foxen woman, curls comfortably into a patterned sofa late at night, barefoot in an oversized charcoal sleep shirt. The room has fallen almost completely dark; a faint warm light glows in the distant background while the phone held against her cheek casts a small pool of pale light across her face, throat, hand, and upper chest. She listens with lowered amber eyes and a quiet, affectionate smile, one knee drawn up beneath her resting hand. Her enormous cream-tipped red tail curls across the shadowed sofa beside her. Books, a mug, plant, and furnishings are barely visible in the surrounding darkness, giving the scene the intimate stillness of a private phone call long after the rest of the house has gone quiet.

A highly detailed portrait illustration of a mature fox-eared woman in an oiran-inspired formal kimono. Her enormous sculptural auburn updo is threaded with ivory flowers, delicate flowering branches, dark leaves, gold ornaments, tassels, and loose strands, with two large auburn fox ears emerging naturally through the hair. She turns in three-quarter profile, her pale, subtly freckled face inclined downward and her amber-brown eyes looking quietly past the viewer. One hand lightly touches the edge of her layered collar. Her near-black indigo kimono fills much of the composition with dense ivory, burgundy, and muted-gold chrysanthemums, peonies, foliage, and fine ornamental linework. Narrow red piping and pale patterned inner collars frame her neck. The overwhelming richness of the hair and textile contrasts with her reserved, distant expression and the plain warm-ivory background.

Another pose that stood out to me after an idea... enjoy. Might be able to brush a few fingertips against her shoulder before she growls. 😉

#aiart #foxwoman
Alt text: A mature fox-eared woman with warm brown skin and a short, tousled wavy brown bob stands in three-quarter rear view beside a marble counter in a dark, candlelit interior. She wears an ivory satin gown with a dramatically low back, thin straps, gold edging, and softly gathered fabric. One arm is raised overhead with her hand resting in her hair, compressing and displacing its chunky irregular waves, while the opposite arm hangs relaxed at her side. The elevated arm creates visible asymmetry through her shoulder girdle: the scapula subtly rotates across the curved rib cage while the opposite shoulder remains lower, producing natural variations around the spine and upper back. Her torso continues through a gently turning waist into a three-dimensional pelvis beneath loosely responsive satin, with folds and areas of fabric release suggesting rather than precisely outlining the anatomy underneath. Warm amber candlelight grazes her shoulders, back, and dress against ornate dark wood, flowers, framed artwork, and brass furnishings.
